Summer is here!
****Next Meeting Monday, June 28th, 7 P.M. At the club field, weather permitting, bring a friend and a plane to fly. If we have enough people, a fun fly is in order I need newsletter material please*****
Club news:
If you have email and have not filled out the online form on our website please do right away. This is pretty much our new roster and we need updated info. It is private and only available to members!
Father's day event was a gigantic success. Come to the meeting for detail and also see the website for pictures. Thanks to all that participated. Jason Horn and I managed to make back all but about 160 bucks of our expenses back with food.
Rich Malik is looking for .25 to.30 gas engines for trainer control line planes. Please check you stash and let Rich know. Just another way to get people into our great hobby.
Training is in session:
Wednesday evenings. I get there by 6. My number is on the newsletter as well as email. I can get there by 430 if needed. Please call! Scott Paschen .
I have purchased several copies of every book that Dave Scott from 1 s t U.S. R/C flight school in Wisconsin, publishes. These are outstanding. I recommend to every new pilot to purchase one week to solo. It is also great for any pilot, especially those training other people. They are 20 bucks which is what I paid for them. Dave is generous with a club and volume discount. I will have them at the meeting.
Safety note:
Please police your own guests. It is not comfortable or safe to have large planes coming over the safety line area of the field. There is a 25 ft no fly area between where we stand and the runway. Those that violate the rules are not welcome. Thanks!
Dues are due at the March meeting to avoid a late fee! You cannot fly without being a member and having current AMA. Obviously you could be a guest but have your AMA card available for scrutiny at the field. There are several members that have not provided proof of AMA. I just need the number and it can be checked online! Those that have not provided it even last year were notified. I suppose names will be posted if necessary to protect the club if we can't verify AMA.
***A couple notes from the AMA safety code***
I will abide by this Safety Code and all rules established for the flying site I use. I will not willfully fly my model aircraft in a reckless and/or dangerous manner. All model flying shall be conducted in a manner to avoid overflight of unprotected people. I will have completed a suc ce s sful radio equipment ground-range check before the first flight of a new or repaired model aircraft.
